Information Regarding Insurance Coverage

To assist you in covering your mental health needs, I am a participating provider for a number of major insurance carriers*, including:

  • Blue Cross / Blue Shield / BCBS (Most policies, including PPO, HMO, and State Retirees)

  • Magellan (most all policies, including BOR)

  • United Behavioral Health (UHC)

  • TriCare (Prime and Standard)

  • Cigna

  • Medicare, Railroad Medicare, and Medicare Replacement Policies (BCBS, UHC, Ambetter, and others)

  • Medicaid (traditional and HMO policies such as PeachState, Ambetter, Wellcare, CareSource, and Amerigroup)

  • UMR (a United Healthcare Company, covering Tanner Medical and others)

  • Aetna

  • Coventry

  • APS Healthcare

  • FiServe (First Serve)

  • Value Options

  • First Health

  • and others...

Most all insurance policies cover mental health treatment.  But I understand that trying to figure out what your policy covers can be very confusing.  For that reason, I (with assistance from my billing service company) will do my best to assist you in obtaining the insurance benefits to which you are entitled and in determining your insurance coverage for mental health prior to your first visit with me (that is, to help you find out your deductible, your co-pay, and any limits to your coverage).

The average patient with insurance coverage has a typical out-of-pocket cost per session of $7-$30. If you do not have insurance coverage, contact me about possible service discounts.

If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, please contact me at (770) 834-0995.

Please Note. I am not a provider for most commercial Humana policies (although I am a provider through Humana for Tricare). You are able to see me even if I do not I participate with your insurance, however the cost may be higher than for other patients or if you were to see a psychologist who participates with your plan (usually as a result of a higher deductible for "out of network" providers). Also, traditional Medicaid does not cover psychotherapy services for any provider for individuals over the age of 21 (although please note that the various Medicaid HMO policies do). If you have questions, feel free to contact the office and we can assist you.
